Well, it is Wednesday and as we begin another day, we need to look at; what do we want to achieve today. I know we may have some grand plan of accomplishments but in reality, how may of those objectives do we typically accomplish.
A good sign of our overall influence or effectiveness can be measured by this very activity. Some people will "handle" only what is before them while the highly productive person will acknowledge the task before them and "add it to the perverable list" (how do you spell that?) and reevaluate the priority.
The focus today should be on the higher priority not the squeaky wheel. Yesterday I was confronted with a task that was of a lower priority but a co-worker kept pushing a particular task. (squeaky wheel) It just got to the point that I took five hours out of my busy day to get this task off my plate.
If I could suggest anything, I would concentrate on the important issues or tasks at hand while acknowledging, but not working on, the squeaky wheel. This is something I know I need to work on.
